Core Values of MLSSM

Freedom:
We allow everyone as much freedom as they are willing to take responsibility for. An empowering culture helps to call out the destiny in your life and helps to call out your full potential. It is based on the value of self-control.

Ownership:
Self-control is an essential truth of the Kingdom. Ownership is about you taking personal responsibility for your life’s growth, purpose, calling and greatness. It is not about performance but responsibility. We will solve problems with students, not for students.

Servanthood:
Servanthood is essential to greatness in God’s Kingdom. Therefore we strive to cultivate and demonstrate a true servant’s heart in the church and in the world. This takes vision, compassion, sacrifice and humility.

Accountability:
Have people in your life that you trust more than yourself. Accountability requires vulnerability, honesty, trust, confrontation and an unoffendable heart. No one can hold you accountable to a standard you don’t hold for yourself.

Purity:
Holiness is really wholeness. We are called to have a higher standard of living than the culture around us. This imparts value to our hearts and lives. Living lives of purity in our hearts and minds with integrity bring freedom to ourselves and those around us.

Honor:
Honor brings life; therefore we cultivate high levels of respect in all relationships and speak with respect, even if we are in disagreement. Honor is our response to God in others.

Risk:
God has called us to be faithful with what He has given us yet to have faith that He can move mountains. Living a life of faith and faithfulness means taking risks. If you want to grow, you must take risks.

Power:
We are a culture that expects the supernatural to happen often. We believe that we received power when we receive the Holy Spirit and miracles, signs and wonders are normal part of life.

Intimacy:
We are not called to live life on our own but in community. The bible says all the law is summed up in this one command love the lord your God with all your heart and love your neighbor as yourself. Intimacy means into me you see. Trust and vulnerability are the basis of intimacy. Cultivating love and intimacy in relationship to God and others is at the center of our lives.
